Hello y'all!!! I know it has been awhile since I have blogged, but it is hard to blog on my piece o crap phone. So I am doing it now. There is one purpose of this blog. I am offering a challenge to y'all. There is an amazing orginazition... better yet a movement, called Never Silence Life. It was started by Barlowgirl. It is a movement to get all of us believers who are against abortion together, and make our voices heard. Espically in our society today, we need to make ourselves heard. This movement is all about us using our voices for those unborn children who do not have one.
January 22 is a day that Barlowgirl is callin us all to take part in prayer as they march in a protest in D.C. They issued a call to fast and pray for 40 days leading up to this event. Now I know that it is past the start date, but why waste time? Why not fins something that you could fast (give up) from today until January 22nd? It can be something personal to you. I chose to give up soda for the 40 days. No matter what, I am soda free until January 22nd. This is my plea to everyone.
Think about this. Pray on this. If you believe that abortion is wrong, and should be stopped... this is your chance to be a part of something amazing. This is your chance to have your voice heard. This is your chance to make a difference. The website is neversilencelife.com and the myspace is myspace.com/neversilencelife. They have all of the facts and stats and info on the site. Check it out... find something to fast.... pray on the prayer topics they have posted. We can make a difference here. We can make change. Just in case you are kinda on the fence about this, let me put it out there this way. One of the stats that the girls have posted on the site is that 1/3rd of our generation has been aborted. 1/3rd. Think about how many of innocent lives that is. How many children that never got a chance to be the people God created them to be. Think about it. Imagine the impact this has on all of us.
Now if you can honestly tell me after looking at the site and checking out all of the stats on it that you do not feel called to take part in this, then I will respect your decision. But if you believe that every baby deserves to be born, and deserves a chance at life, then this is a call to you. Make your voice heard. Change history. Save lives.

Jesus and the Island of Misfit Toys
So, I have to state one fact here before I start this blog. And that fact is that this was not my idea. This blog was inspired by my mommy, Nancy. She came up with this on a church retreat, and it inspired me so much, I want to share it with y'all. So thanks Mom.
We've all seen the Christmas classic "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer". And if you haven't, wow. You are living under a rock ,and need to rent it PRONTO. Not the new version, the orignal version. From waaaaaaaay back in the day. Anyway, in the movie, there is an island of misfit toys. It is a place where all of the toys that didn't pass inspection go. They all have flaws, therefore they are deemed "ungivable" for Christmas. Rudolph comes across this island, and befriends the toys that inhabit it. Anyway, the toys all feel like failures, like because oftheir flaws, they are worthless. And Santa shows them different. Now stick with me here, this is where this blog involves actual thought and not a quick read.
My Mom's idea was that in a way, we are all like the toys on that island. We all have our flaws, and are deemed unworthy by someone in society. And, like the toys, we all let it get us down. We're not skinny enough, pretty enough, tall enough, "cool" enough... you get the idea. We all feel flawed and worthless. And Santa is like Jesus. He comes to our lil misfit island and saves us all from feeling so worhtless. He shows us that we are all beautiful in his eyes. And that we all have worth. Jesus shows us that we all have a purpose, despite our flaws. He shows us that there is beauty in our flaws, and we are not worhtless in his eyes. No matter what society may say.
When my Mom told me this revelation she had, it really made me think. It is so easy to let other people's opinions get us down. We all look in the mirror, and instantly see our flaws. And we feel like we are worhtless. Espically this time of year, when society is so focused on material posessions and money. It is very easy to feel worhtless when you can't go Christmas shopping... or when you don't have a job. But that is the beauty of my Mom's story, and of Jesus' word. Our worth is not based on wether or not we can buy neat things. Or how much is in the bank. Jesus measures our worth and riches in other things. He doesn't care if you have a HDTV or designer lables, or drive a BMW. He loves us, no matter what. And this time of year, we need to remember that.
Christmas, in case you don't know, is not about the gifts and the money and the shopping. It is all about Jesus. Without his birth, there would be no Christmas. This holiday is not about what you get. This is not about good ol' American greed. This is about our one true living savior, coming to earth, to save us. To save the misfits. To love us, no matter what we think, or society thinks, is wrong with us. So next time you are feeling depressed because you don't have enough money to buy everyone Christmas presents... think about giving them one of the best presents. Pray for them. Call them, talk to them, pray with them (if they are comfortable with that). And if they don't know Jesus yet, show them his grace and love and mercy, and just love on them this holiday. A tv can die, a sweater can be outgrown. But the love of our one true savior, Jesus Christ.... will last forever. Think about it.

I hope we're all proud.
Well, as most of you know, yesterday was "Black Friday". And I hope that as a society, we can someday move on past this barbaric day. It makes me sick. This single day points out how materialistic our socitey has become. It shows the world that tv's and dvd players and clothes matter to us more than acting like civil humans. If you watched the news at all, you heard about the Wal Mart worker in New York that got trampled to death by a mass of shoppers. All I have to say is that I hope we're all real darn proud of ourselves. Is there really anything at Wal Mart that consitiutes an innocent man being trampled to death?? How far are we willing to go... all for material possesions??? The worst part is, there are many of us out there who have enough sense in our minds to avoid stores like a plague on Black Friday, but yet this kind of senseless violence happens. Ever heard the saying about there are two kinds of evil in this world?? One of those kinds of evil is when people sit by, watch the evil happen, and do nothing about it. This is the same thing. What is it going to take for enough of us to stand up and say that this kind of madness has to stop?? How many people have to get injured and even die, all so people can buy crap they don't need anyway??? Think about it. And if society is sooo attached to this sick tradition that they refuse to abolish it, then someone needs to step in and make some dang rules about it. Regulate it. DO SOMETHING. This is just so wrong to me. I just don't see how we can all say "oh, that's terrible!!", and yet we go shopping and act like a bunch of apes again next year. It makes me sick. Whatever happened to humanity!! Whatever happened to people acting civil?? Seriously. I am pretty darn sure that there are people out there who are just as sickened by this tradition as I am. Maybe, if enough of us speak out, something can be done to make sure that nobody else has to lose a father, mother, brother or sister.... all in the name of good ol' american greed. I hope we're all pleased with ourselves.
